Welcome to our hostel
The must-do activity for all groups visiting this hostel is to tick off the Notre Dame.
This world-famous cathedral is found in Amiens and shows off Gothic architecture at its best. Add this to the other world heritage sites which are nearby, then this hostel makes a great base for a history group tour.
Synonymous with the city are the hortillonages or ‘floating gardens’ which can be discovered in special boats known as ‘barques à cornet’. Covering an amazing 300 hectares, these floating gardens are interlaced with small canals and have been cultivated since the Middle Ages; a must-see for any group interested in gardening.
With the Somme running through the city, there are riverside walks, mountain-bike trails and paths for joggers.
And of course Amiens was also the home of Jules Verne – the famous writer who lived here between 1882 and 1900. His home has now been transformed into a museum to celebrate his life and works and his writing desk is there for all to see.
So whether you are looking for history, nature, art or culture, then a group stay at the Hostel Amiens will mean that you can try out all of these things. Make a groups enquiry for this hostel today!
