Hostelling International

Welcome to our hostel

Our hostel in the capital city of Switzerland is nestled in the shadows of the ‘Bundeshaus’ (Swiss Parliament building) providing all groups staying here with an enviable location.

Just 10 minutes away from the train station, the hostel has a number of organised activities on offer. For school groups, why not take the ‘classy’ programme? With a discount of 20% for groups of more than 10, you can take a guided tour of the Federal Parliament; visit the Paul Klee Museum or Einstein Museum. And you can see the bears at the recently enlarged bear pits before heading off to relax at the Aqua Park.

For those groups looking for more an adrenalin rush, the hostel has partnered with Swissraft which can take you on half-day and one-day canyoning and rafting tours. Book up your space at reception.

And a few metres away from the hostel, alongside the river Aare, lies the ‘Marzili’, Bern's most popular riverside swimming pool with a magnificent view of the Parliament and the Münster (Bern Cathedral).

Easily accessible on foot, groups can discover the fascinating medieval history of this beautiful city. A must –see attraction is the Zytglogge – the Clock Tower. Built around the turn of the 13th century, the locals are proud to tell you it's ‘the longest running act in show business’. On the hour, every hour throughout the day, there is a stunning display of early animatronic technology.

Check out The Gurten, a lovely hill just outside the city. It features great views over the city on one side and a nice panorama of the Bernese Alps on the other. Hiking paths lead in all directions and you will almost certainly stumble across some cows when walking around. Families with children should not miss the cool playground.

So whatever your reason for visiting Berne, our hostel here is in a great location to make the most of what the city has to offer. Why not make an enquiry now?
