Welcome to our hostel
The most notable attraction in Rouen has got to be Notre Dame – the famous cathedral which was captured on canvas by Monet and is rumoured to have a tomb containing Richard the Lionheart buried here.
Our hostel in Rouen is within an industrial area of the city and is actually part of a converted dye-works factory which dates back to 1780. It has great transport links into the city centre which is just 2km away or you can walk using a footpath along the river Robec.
Rouen has everything for groups. If you are a history group then you will be spoilt for choice. Admire the half-timbered buildings which have survived the centuries, gaze at the incredible artwork on offer at the galleries and museums and be sure to visit the Place du Vieux Marché which is the site of Joan of Arc’s pyre. You can also climb the steps inside the amazing Big Clock (La Grosse Horloge) for a spectacular view of the city.
Whenever in France there is the opportunity to sample the local foods and wine and in Rouen this is no different. Explore the city centre (the majority of it is pedestrianised) and try out some new tastes – especially the pastries which this area is known for. There is even a Food Festival here in October.
If you want to be a little more active, there are walking and biking trails nearby which are on the north side of the Seine and lead to the Foret Roumare.
So whatever your reason for visiting this beautiful part of France, why not make a group enquiry to stay at the Hostel Rouen today?
