Hostelling International

Welcome to our hostel

Renowned as being an ‘A’ list resort, Zermatt in Switzerland often has an ‘A’ list price tag to go with it. But that’s not the case for groups staying at our hostel here. Because visitors get all of the facilities they need (and none of the ones they don’t) for a very affordable price, including a spectacular view of the Matterhorn.

Zermatt is a car-free zone and boasts some of the freshest and cleanest air in the world. One traveller described their stay here as having ‘most beautiful night sky I have ever seen anywhere in the world. Bright stars, millions more than I have ever seen before. The moon and the Matterhorn were magical.’ With no vehicular access, most travellers arrive by train – just 15 minutes from the hostel front door.

Perfect for skiing groups – after all the slopes here are some of the best – the hostel has negotiated a discount on equipment hire with a local supplier. And there is also a discount here on bike hire if you are visiting during the summer.

Zermatt is a starting point for hikes into the mountains, including the Haute Route that leads to Chamonix in France and the Patrouille des Glaciers. Cable cars and chair lifts carry skiers in the winter and hikers in the summer. And don’t miss the spectacular rack railway line - the Gornergratbahn - the highest open-air railway in Europe which runs up to the summit of the Gornergrat.

So if you are looking for all of the celebrity of Zermatt but without the hefty price tag for your group visit, then why not make an enquiry at our hostel now?
