Group accommodation in La Rochelle

8 Entries

Our group accommodation in La Rochelle, the charming old maritime French city, is located facing the marina just a short walk away from the centre of the city. Affectionately known as ‘The White City’ due to its array of pale, limestone buildings – La Rochelle gives the impression of a Mediterranean destination rather than France. If groups dare to delve a little deeper into the winding streets they will discover all of the charms you would expect from a traditional French city and a whole lot more. Groups on school trips to France with a focus on history will fall in love with La Rochelle – its old port is the focal point for most visits and is lined with wonderful seafood restaurants and shops. Stroll along the Vieux Port, seeing the medieval Three Towers reflected in the gleaming water while the comparatively modern sailboats bob along. Turn into a cobbled street, wander the scenic lanes and admire the buildings, some grandiose, some charmingly decayed, giving a sense of the city's endurance. Stop at an outdoor café and people-watch while eating a crêpe and sipping a coffee. Refresh yourself at the hostel then head out for the night - the city looks breathtaking when lit up with shades of orange and yellow reflected on the ancient architecture. If you’re planning a group trip in the summer - don’t miss ‘FrancoFolies’ music festival, one of the biggest in France, which takes place each summer here. So whether you’re on a group trip to La Rochelle for history, art, music or just for a group getaway with loved ones – La Rochelle ticks every box.
