Hostelling International Tripbook for

Group accommodation in Ottawa

10 Entries

Our group accommodation in Ottawa, Ontario, sets groups right in the centre of the Canadian capital – offering a magnitude of cultural, historical, social and outdoor activities. The fun begins at our unique group hostel – when the 150-year-old Carleton County Gaol was closed down in 1972, Hostelling International bought the building and turned it into the haunting hostel it is now. Sleep in authentic jail cells and if you’re lucky (or unlucky, depending on how you look at it!) your group may catch a glimpse of one of the jail’s spectral former residents! Spookiness aside, Ottawa caters beautifully to the needs of school groups, those on educational trips, sporty groups, friends and families. The city is so diverse that no group will be at a loss when it comes to activities and things to do. The Museum of Nature is located in the Victoria Memorial Museum Building – a stunning castle-like structure. If you’re planning a group trip in winter – don’t miss the world’s biggest ice rink – the frozen over Rudeau Canal. The Winterlude Festival also hits the city along with the cold weather – which includes spectacular ice sculptures, concerts and other events.
